Quality Inspector

About The Role
Inspect, test, and evaluate machined, fabricated, or assembled parts to ensure they meet company quality standards, blueprints, customer requirements, and specifications. Use precision measuring tools and testing equipment to identify defects, verify product accuracy, and support quality assurance processes and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and measure incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products
- Use calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and inspection documents
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Follow established inspection and testing procedures
- Record and report inspection results, defects, and nonconforming products
- Sort, grade, approve, or reject materials, parts, and finished products
- Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records
- Maintain and calibrate measuring and testing equipment
- Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions
- Recommend improvements to quality processes
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistent quality
- Work with production employees and management to resolve quality concerns
- Review customer specifications and ensure requirements are met
- Support the development and maintenance of quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans
- Monitor compliance with company quality policies and applicable industry standards
- Track quality trends and help identify recurring problems
- Assist with customer quality-related concerns
- Promote continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- 5–10 years of relevant quality inspection or quality assurance experience
- Experience inspecting machined, fabricated, or assembled parts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency with calipers, gauges, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment
- Experience completing inspection reports and quality documentation
- Knowledge of nonconformance reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Familiarity with quality management systems and audit procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, accountable, and able to manage time effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
