About The Role
Job details • Proposed designation Assistant Manager • Role type Individual contributor • Reporting to Tax Manager • Geo to be supported Global VAT and IPT (Insurance Premium Taxes) Process – EMEA/ APAC/ Canada • Work timings 8 AM to 5 PM (May differ depending on the profile)
Roles & responsibilities • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual Indirect Tax returns (e.g., VAT, GST, IPT, sales tax, and other transactional taxes) for complex countries like UK, France, Germany etc. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and International Indirect Tax laws and regulations. • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party service providers to ensure timely and accurate submission of Tax returns and payment of taxes. • Maintain accurate Indirect Tax records and documentation in line with statutory requirements. • Assist with Indirect Tax audits, including gathering information, providing documentation, and resolving any issues raised by tax authorities. • Respond to inquiries from Clients and Tax Authorities. • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure Indirect Tax compliance is handled efficiently and cost-effectively. • Support the implementation of Tax Technologies and tools to improve Indirect Tax compliance, reporting, and automation . • Work closely with AR, AP, Treasury and other operations teams to ensure Indirect Tax matters are correctly addressed across the business • Support internal stakeholders on Indirect Tax questions, ensuring a clear understanding of tax implications for business transactions. Roles & responsibilities Training & Mentorship: • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on Indirect Tax issues and procedures. • Assist in training internal teams on Indirect Tax compliance and best practices. Other Duties: · Stay up to date with changes in Indirect Tax laws and provide proactive advice to ensure compliance. · Assist in preparing Indirect Tax reconciliations and regular clearance of open items Support ad-hoc Tax projects or corporate restructuring efforts as required.
This role is for you if you have the below Educational qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. • Additional qualifications such as CA or equivalent certifications are preferred. Work experience • 5+ years of experience in Indirect Tax compliance, tax consulting, or a similar role. • In-depth understanding of Indirect Tax laws and regulations, including VAT, GST, sales tax, and accounting. • Working experience with Indirect Tax APAC/ EMEA region and knowledge around IPT is an advantage.
