Pain Management Overview

Sentara Medical Group is searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in managing complex patients with chronic pain to join their innovative outpatient Pain Management team in Norfolk, VA.

Position Highlights

  • Location : 301 Riverview Avenue Norfolk, VA 23510
  • Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8:00-4:30p
  • Manage pre‑operative evaluations for interventional pain procedures
  • Provide post‑procedure follow‑up care , including pain assessment, complication monitoring, medication adjustments, and coordination of ongoing care.
  • Conduct comprehensive new patient evaluations for individuals presenting with new-onset acute back pain , including history, physical examination, initial assessment, and care planning.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising/interventional pain physicians.
  • Perform and assist with lower‑acuity pain management procedures consistent with training, credentialing, and state scope of practice (e.g., trigger point injections, joint injections, follow‑up procedural assessments).
