Accountabilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot, applying sound engineering and architectural practices.
Build scalable and secure RESTful APIs that meet business and technical requirements.
Develop and support microservices and event-driven architectures using Kafka and related messaging patterns.
Participate in technical discussions, architectural decisions, and the definition of software solutions.
Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
Monitor application performance and proactively identify and implement optimization opportunities.
Investigate production incidents, diagnose technical problems, and contribute to sustainable solutions and root-cause resolution.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Document technical solutions and contribute to the creation and maintenance of operational procedures.
Promote development best practices through code reviews, DevOps practices, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Strong professional experience with Java, particularly versions 8, 11, 17, or 21.
Advanced knowledge of Spring Boot, including experience with Spring Boot 3.x.
Solid experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, with a strong understanding of API security practices.
Practical experience with microservices architecture and distributed application development.
Experience with messaging and event-driven architecture, particularly Apache Kafka.
Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, as well as non-relational technologies such as MongoDB and Redis.
Experience implementing unit and integration tests and applying software quality practices.
Knowledge of DevOps principles and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
Experience with tools such as Jenkins and Git, combined with familiarity with agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
Strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Proactive approach to continuous learning and keeping up with evolving technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes and Spring Cloud is a plus.
Familiarity with Consul, Jira, and application monitoring tools is desirable.
Experience working on large-scale projects, particularly within the financial sector, is an advantage.
Active participation in technical communities or open-source projects is a plus.
