Join a senior engineering role where you will build, evolve, and improve software across backend and frontend <environments.You> will work primarily with Java and Flutter, contributing to scalable, modern, and high-quality applications.The role combines hands-on development with architectural decisions, technical collaboration, and continuous <improvement.You> will work with cloud-native technologies, microservices, asynchronous integrations, and relational and NoSQL databases.Quality is a core focus, with automated testing, code reviews, documentation, and strong engineering practices embedded in the development <lifecycle.You> will also help manage technical risks, influence technology choices, and support the growth of less experienced engineers.This is an opportunity for a technically strong professional who values autonomy, collaboration, and building reliable solutions in a remote environment.
Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance software functionality, identifying opportunities for refactoring, optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Build and evolve backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Quarkus, MicroProfile, and microservices-based architectures.
- Develop modern and interactive frontend and mobile experiences using Flutter.
- Design and maintain integrations between services, including asynchronous communication through RabbitMQ and/or AWS SQS.
- Work with cloud environments and support the creation and management of development and production environments using AWS and EKS.
- Apply sound software architecture practices, including DDD, Microservices, MVC, and Clean Architecture.
- Design and optimize solutions using relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB, as well as caching technologies such as Redis.
- Ensure code quality through automated unit, integration, and mutation testing, including JUnit and, where applicable, Pitest.
- Participate actively in code reviews and contribute to technical standards, engineering practices, and architectural decisions.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation using Markdown, Swagger/OpenAPI, C4 Model, UML, and other appropriate documentation standards.
- Use Git, GitFlow, GitLab, and Azure DevOps to manage source code, tasks, collaboration, and development workflows.
- Assess technical complexity, estimate risks, and develop mitigation strategies for complex initiatives.
- Participate actively in communication channels, technical discussions, planning, and alignment meetings.
- Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and support colleagues in solving technical challenges.
- Contribute to onboarding and the technical development of less experienced professionals.
- Proactively evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and engineering practices that can improve the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Solid professional experience with Java 8+, Java EE, Spring Boot, Quarkus, and MicroProfile.
- Strong experience with Flutter for developing modern frontend and mobile applications.
- Experience with microservices, DDD, MVC, Clean Architecture, and other software architecture best practices.
- Hands-on experience with EKS and AWS environments for development and production workloads.
- Experience implementing asynchronous integrations using RabbitMQ and/or AWS SQS.
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Experience with Redis for caching and in-memory data management.
- Practical experience developing automated unit tests with JUnit and applying software quality practices.
- Proficiency with Git and GitFlow, with experience using collaborative development and version-control workflows.
- Experience creating technical documentation using Markdown, Swagger/OpenAPI, C4 Model, and UML.
- Ability to participate effectively in code reviews, technical discussions, architecture decisions, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to estimate complexity, identify technical risks, and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Good communication, collaboration, autonomy, and willingness to support the technical development of other team members.
- Experience with GitLab pipelines and continuous integration practices is an advantage.
- Experience with Flutter Desktop, Electron JS, JavaScript, and TypeScript is a plus.
- Knowledge of mutation testing with Pitest, DynamoDB, Linux administration, and additional AWS services is desirable.
