Job DescriptionProject Technician Schedule: 5PM to 1AM, weekends can be required Starting Wage: $34.00/hr PLUS $2/hr Shift Premium Repairs and maintains all types of production equipment, including new equipment, while maintaining a quality production environment. Generates and implements ideas for plant improvements and modification of existing equipment. Fabricates complex parts for existing and new machines by following blueprints and sketches. Work with other departments in major equipment upgrades and modifications. Trains other employees on the theory and operation of plant equipment.Primary Role and ResponsibilitiesDiagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to accurately correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.Dismantles machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.Assembles, installs, or repairs pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipmentPerforms routine maintenance, such as inspecting pumps, belts, checking fluid levels, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.Reads and follows equipment manuals, blueprints, sketches, layouts, and Maintenance Work Order RequestsWorks with Predictive Technology Equipment (Thermography, Ultrasound, and Vibration) to troubleshoot and repair equipment.Uses shop equipment to perform repairs (Lathe, Mill, Drill press, Torch, Saws, Grinders, and Welders)Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal <parts.Works> as a team member while completing all assignments efficientlyWorks with tight measurement tolerances (.000x)Follows all site safety standards (LOTO, PPE)!Documents time spent in plant on the Maintenance Work Order in SAPCoordinates projects (plans, bids, set-up and installation)Resolves problems independently and in groupsWorks with the storeroom to manage spare parts and inventoryResponsible to follow FSQ requirements such as GMPs and other daily/job specific duties to support QRMPPerforms all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team LeaderRequired Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesMechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, including detailed knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulicsRepairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Active Learning — Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.Facilities management software — Computerized maintenance management system CMMSElectronic mail software — Microsoft OutlookOffice suite software — Microsoft OfficeEnglish Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively.Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others.Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships — Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.Ability to work with a variety of precision measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, rulers, etc.)Able to use various mechanical hand and power toolsAble to work with little or no direct supervision at timesCapable of completing all vital training on and off site.Ability to coordinate or lead othersWork Environment and Physical RequirementsArm-Hand Steadiness — The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.Regularly requires face-to-face discussionsRequires the ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controlsRequires the ability to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, or hard hats!Requires frequent standing and walkingRequires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyWork is performed around industrial equipmentWork is performed indoors and outdoors in varying temperaturesRequires the ability to work at heightsAble to work in tight or confined spacesMust be available to work a flexible schedule with extended hours as necessary to cover business needs including the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.Benefits: Coverage for employees (and their eligible dependents) through affordable access to healthcare, protection, and saving for the future, we offer plans tailored to meet you and your family’s needs.
