Located on Hayat Island, InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa is a luxury beachfront resort where island living meets authentic Arabian hospitality. Every plate has the chance to leave a lasting impression, and dessert is often the final one. We’re looking for a skilled and creative Chef de Partie – Pastry who takes pride in producing high-quality pastries, desserts and baked items while maintaining the standards expected in a luxury resort environment.
As part of our Culinary team, you’ll support the Executive Pastry Chef in the day-to-day operation of the Pastry section, guide junior colleagues and ensure preparation, presentation, hygiene and consistency are maintained at the highest level.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be
- Preparing and presenting a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads and other baked items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Taking ownership of your assigned section, ensuring mise en place is completed according to production and business requirements
- Checking the quality, storage, handling and proper rotation of ingredients and finished products
- Maintaining consistency in taste, texture, portioning and presentation across all pastry items
- Supporting the Pastry Chef in developing new desserts, pastries and recipes while keeping up with current trends
- Guiding and training junior colleagues on pastry preparation, hygiene, grooming and kitchen standards
- Keeping food wastage to a minimum and supporting effective food cost management
- Ensuring refrigerators, freezers, equipment and work areas are clean, organised and properly maintained
- Following all food safety, hygiene, health and safety requirements, as well as IHG brand standards
- Supporting other areas of the kitchen when required and working closely with the wider Culinary team
What We need from you
- Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Culinary Arts, Pastry, Baking or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and kitchen experience
- Previous experience in a Pastry kitchen , preferably within a luxury hotel, resort or high-volume operation
- Strong knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, desserts and presentation
- Previous experience supervising or guiding junior kitchen colleagues
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, stock rotation and waste control
- A keen eye for detail with a focus on quality, consistency and presentation
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy Culinary team
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required
