JOB SUMMARY

Perform electrical engineering work on power, oil and gas and petrochemical projects. Produce drawings and associated Bills of Material, develop specifications, purchase equipment and develop necessary supporting reports, calculations and studies to verify electrical effort on the project. Act as Engineer of Record for the Electrical Discipline, utilizing thorough knowledge of one-line development, relay coordination, lighting calculations, cable sizing, short circuit analysis, grounding, communications, power and control. Apply Canadian Codes to electrical engineering work, including ensuring local compliance. Travel to manufacturing facilities and job sites to verify equipment configuration and compliance with specifications and other activities involved in the start-up of a plant. Supervise and coordinate engineers, designers and drafters assigned to project. Act as Marine Lead for Electrical discipline. Perform complex grounding and lightning protection calculations. Review and approve Lighting Calculations. Review and approve Panel Schedules, Main Electrical and Instrumentation Vendor coordination and document review. Design and review onshore/offshore umbilical systems. Maintain Electrical field Safety Representative (FSR-A) status for Canadian projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 10 years of experience in a related occupation. Position requires 8 years of industry experience with an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractor. Position also requires experience in each of the following: LNG, gas processing, refinery, or petrochemical projects; on-site experience during construction; Service as a Task Lead (I.e., Substitution Lead or Area Lead) on at least one (1) mid to large-size project in excess of $300 Million; Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL), ETAP, and MS Office Suite; Onshore/offshore Umbilical System Design; experience ensuring compliance of electrical systems on vessels according to Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas (BV), and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) classification; and experience using CDEGS software for complex electrical grounding and lightning protection calculations. Position also requires registration as a Canadian Professional Engineer (P.Eng) for any Canadian-based projects.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 10% domestic and international travel required.
