Manager Business Improvement & Transformation Office ROLE PROFILE GENERAL Date December 2025 Location Aggeneys, Northern Cape Operations BMC Shared Services Job Grade D4 (Paterson) / M4 (Vedanta) ROLE CONTEXT Vedanta Zinc International (VZI) is driving a company-wide transformation agenda focused on improving operational performance, increasing productivity, enhancing asset utilization, optimizing costs, and delivering sustainable business value across Mining, Processing, Engineering, Commercial, Projects and Enabling Functions. To support this agenda, VZI has established a Transformation Office (TO) that serves as the central performance management and execution engine responsible for converting operational opportunities into measurable business outcomes. The Transformation Office provides governance, performance visibility, value assurance, initiative management, and leadership decision support across the organisation. The Manager: Business Improvement & Transformation Office (D4) is responsible for coordinating the Transformation Office, driving business improvement initiatives, managing the transformation portfolio, establishing performance management disciplines, ensuring value realization, and enabling data-driven decision making across the business. The role acts as the primary integrator between initiative owners, workstream leads, Finance, operational leadership, and the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO). PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To lead the day-to-day operation of the Transformation Office by establishing performance management disciplines, managing the business improvement portfolio, tracking value delivery, coordinating executive governance processes, and ensuring transformation initiatives deliver measurable and sustainable results across VZI. The role ensures: • A single source of truth for transformation and operational performance. • Effective business improvement governance and accountability. • Delivery of transformation benefits and sustainable value realization. • Robust initiative tracking and milestone management. • Fact-based decision making through analytics and reporting. • Escalation and resolution of business constraints and performance gaps. • Continuous improvement capability development across the business. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Transformation Office Governance & Management · Manage the Transformation Office operating model and governance framework. · Facilitate weekly Transformation Office meetings and monthly executive review forums. · Coordinate workstream reviews, sponsor engagements and executive updates. · Drive accountability across initiative owners and workstream leaders. · Escalate critical performance and delivery risks to the CTO and Executive Committee. · Ensure adherence to Transformation Office standards, templates, methodologies and operating rhythms 2. Business Improvement Portfolio Management · Maintain and govern the enterprise improvement opportunity pipeline. · Facilitate identification, prioritization and approval of improvement initiatives. · Support initiative owners in developing implementation plans and business cases. · Track initiative progression through the defined L0-L5 implementation lifecycle. · Manage initiative interdependencies and resource constraints. · Monitor execution progress and intervene where delivery is at risk. 3. Performance Management & Reporting · Develop and maintain executive performance dashboards and scorecards. · Consolidate operational, financial and transformation performance data. · Monitor key operational performance indicators across Mining, Processing and Support Functions. · Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly Transformation Office reports. · Enable transparency and visibility of performance, targets, risks and actions. · Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency across functions. 4. Value Delivery & Benefits Realisation · Partner with Finance to validate initiative business cases and value assumptions. · Establish benefit tracking methodologies and realization frameworks. · Monitor forecast versus actual value delivery. · Identify value leakage and implement corrective actions. · Ensure initiatives deliver measurable and sustainable business benefits. · Support annual planning and transformation value target setting processes. 5. Business Intelligence & Analytics · Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions supporting transformation delivery. · Design and manage Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and reporting tools. · Analyse operational and financial performance trends. · Identify improvement opportunities through data analysis. · Provide actionable insights to operational and executive leadership teams. · Support strategic decision making through advanced analytics and performance modelling. 6. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement · Drive root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities. · Facilitate improvement workshops across operational workstreams. · Promote continuous improvement methodologies and best practices. · Support operational teams in identifying and implementing performance improvement opportunities. · Standardise performance management routines and business review processes. · Embed a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement. 7. Stakeholder & Change Management Build strong relationships across operational, functional and executive leadership teams. Act as the central coordination point between initiative owners and executives. Facilitate alignment across competing priorities and initiatives. Support organisational change management and transformation communication activities. Influence stakeholders to drive sustainable adoption of improvement initiatives. Foster collaboration across cross-functional workstreams. 8. Risk, Compliance & Assurance · Maintain transformation risk registers and mitigation plans. · Monitor initiative delivery risks and implementation barriers. · Ensure governance and assurance requirements are met. · Validate milestone completion and initiative health. · Ensure compliance with VZI governance standards and operating procedures. 9. People Leadership, Capability Building & Support · Build capacity in planning, scheduling, cost control and governance compliance. · Promote a culture of disciplined execution and continuous improvement. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Qualifications · BEng / BTech / Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Civil or equivalent). · Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, PMBOK, Agile) advantageous. · Postgraduate qualification advantageous. · Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt advantageous. Experience · 8–12 years project management or engineering experience in mining, processing or industrial environments. · Strong background in capital/SIB project execution and governance. · Experience in multi-site program coordination or COE/central technical roles beneficial. · Proven track record in delivering projects on scope, on time, and on budget. Technical Competence · Strong project management, scheduling and cost control capability. · Proficiency with project tools (MS Project, Primavera, SAP PS, dashboards). · Understanding of engineering standards, safety systems and construction management. · Solid knowledge of risk management, financial analysis and reporting. · Ability to integrate technical, commercial and operational considerations.
