About The Role
Role Purpose The Cost Accountant is responsible for managing product and operational costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, budgeting, and profitability reporting. The role supports business decision-making through accurate cost information, financial analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Procurement, and Finance teams. Key Responsibilities Maintain and review standard costing models. Analyze material, labor, overhead, and production costs. Monitor actual vs. standard costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support business decisions. Maintain and review standard costing models. Analyze material, labor, overhead, and production costs. Perform monthly analysis of material, labor, overhead, inventory, and yield variances. Investigate cost fluctuations and provide recommendations. Prepare management reports on cost performance and profitability. Support annual budgets and forecasts. Develop product cost models and financial projections. Monitor performance against budget and forecast targets. Support pricing and margin improvement initiatives Prepare cost-related journal entries and reconciliations. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements. Maintain product cost structures and profitability analysis. Support ERP costing processes and data integrity. Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and stronger financial controls. Desired Skills Professional qualification required: ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or CMA. 3 to 7 years of experience in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Accounting, or Management Accounting Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Engineering, or Industrial sectors preferred Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Business partnering and stakeholder management. Strong communication and presentation skills. Accuracy of product and inventory costing. Department : Finance Shift: UK shift (12:30 PM-10 PM/1:30 PM -11 PM IST) Location: Hybrid/WFO (Any location in India) Reporting To: Finance Manager / Financial Controller
