JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor

JOB LOCATION: Nairobi, Kenya

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure manufacture of high-quality products, effectively supervising work on the shopfloor, ensure the good functioning of the production process with respect to production output, quality, daily planning, plant safety and environmental performance.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Health and Safety responsibilities.
Follow the company’s health and safety policies and procedures and instructions of the responsible supervisor and health and safety lead.

Report and highlighting all potential hazardous situations Unsafe Acts and Unsafe conditions relating to the factory.
Maintain housekeeping based on 5S Methodology.
Daily risk assessments to be completed and signed off - corrective and preventative action taken where required and by whom has the authority.
Ensuring all fork trucks are inspected daily, maintained and any deviations addressed.
Ensure safe working conditions are always maintained in the factory.
Ensure use of PPEs in the factory at all times and proper use of all safety appliances.

Performance Responsibility

Implement production processes that will give maximum output efficiency from machines and manpower.
Ensure machines/equipment maintenance are done at regular intervals for NO unplanned downtimes .
Execution of Planned production and output reporting as per standard cycle times Coordinate with the planner on production plans, RMs and packaging material availability and min-max stock controls .
To ensure implementation of all production related processes as per the Mapei corporate procedures .
Supervise all production related activities but not limited to RM collection, weighing, process compliance, packaging accuracy, finished goods transfer and job completion as per schedules .
Prepare production orders and ensure timely booking in the system of the produced stock .
Ensure that pre-weight batches and packaging are prepared well in advance .
Record data of all powder plant raw material & packaging for accurate inventory figures .
Ensure accurate record of production input and output, and report all spillages.
Report on the recycling of products, recovery of spillages and dust collector fines as and when required.
Monitor cycle times and participate in improvement plans to achieve a better efficiency rating.
Monitor the packaging line to improve on final product bag weight accuracy and reducing product give-away.
Minimize overtime worked by team by continuously improving efficiency .
Ensure minimum or NO non-conformities for semi-finished products, finished products, raw material and packaging and report any occurrences.
Ensure inventory management best practices (like LILO and FIFO/LIFO, Demand forecasting, Buffer/Safety stocking and Batch tracking systems) are implemented and followed.
Ensure that all labor laws/factory acts/rules etc. are complied with
Conform to the Code of Ethics and local policies and procedures as required to by Management.
Take part in the perpetual stock verification as per schedules.
Ensure availability of local manufactured products to sales team(s) and customers On Time and In Full.
Ensure cost reduction by Continuously reducing spillages generated in plant for both raw material and packaging.
Performs any other duties and responsibilities related to production assigned by the line manager.
