Senior Mechanical Engineer (BIM Specialist)

About the Role

MicroBIM is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) to join our team in Cairo. In this role, you will leverage your deep background in MEP and Fire Protection engineering to drive BIM software quality, support product workflows, provide technical expertise, and deliver high-impact client onboarding and training.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply deep mechanical design (MEP/Fire Protection) and BIM expertise to support engineering software operations and product development.
• Conduct software testing, validation, and quality assurance (QA) for engineering and BIM applications.
• Provide high-level technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance for BIM and Revit software workflows.
• Create and conduct technical training sessions, software product demonstrations, and customer onboarding programs.
• Collaborate closely with software development, QA, and product teams to enhance digital engineering tools.
• Ensure compliance with international BIM standards, coordination workflows, and NFPA guidelines.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Background

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (MEP/Fire Protection focus preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering with a strong focus on BIM.
• Industry Focus: Prior experience in BIM/Engineering Software, AEC, MEP Design, Construction Technology (ConTech), or Digital Engineering.

Technical Skills & Expertise

• Hands-on proficiency with Autodesk Revit (MEP) and digital engineering workflows.
• Solid understanding of BIM standards, spatial coordination, and Revit Family creation/management.
• Background in Fire Protection design and NFPA standards is a strong plus.
• Prior experience in software testing/QA, technical support, or training/onboarding for engineering software.

Preferred Certifications

• Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) – Revit MEP
• Certified BIM Manager / BIM Coordinator
• BIM Professional Certification or NFPA-related credentials
