Porter

The Porter role at Steinway & Sons is responsible for maintaining a clean office and factory environment, here at our manufacturing plant in Astoria, Queens. This role will clean the cafeteria, bathrooms, and workspaces in the factory and office areas, as assigned. This role requires your shift to begin at 2 PM or later.

Requirements

• Cleans floors, windows, tables, and chairs in the factory
• Fills toilet paper, paper towels, and soaps in toilets as required
• As a regular routine, cleans factory toilets
• Perform all daily maintenance functions and 5S requirements (i.e. clean and sweep area)
• Train others as required
• Enter data in T&A and close work orders as required
• Perform other functions in the department as necessary

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Requires no experience. Requires approximately 2-4 weeks break-in. Requires a moderate degree of physical effort, and a light to moderate degree of mental effort. No injuries are probable. Working conditions include a high degree of soil, and odor and fumes from chemicals used in cleaning.
