System Engineer

Qualifications Master’s degree in Mechanics, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar 5+ years of experience in system engineering, ideally in automotive or complex product environments Strong expertise in: System architecture multi-domain integration (HW/SW/Mechanical) Requirements engineering system validation Development processes (V-model, APQP) Functional Safety (ISO 26262) is a plus Good understanding of mechanical interfaces, embedded software, and hardware design Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage complexity Experience working in cross-functional and international teams Fluent in English (German is a plus) Responsibilities Define and drive system architecture for complex mechatronic products, ensuring robust integration of hardware, software, and mechanical elements Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into clear system specifications, concepts, and technical solutions Ensure end-to-end system responsibility across the full product lifecycle — from concept and development to industrialization and series support Lead system decomposition and ensure alignment between HW, SW, and Mechanical domains Maintain requirements traceability and system consistency, including impact analysis for changes and product updates Perform system-level risk analysis (FMEA, technical risk assessments) and ensure compliance with standards Act as the technical interface towards customers, including participation in design reviews and issue resolution Manage and coordinate engineering changes (PCN), variant updates, and continuous product improvements (VAVE) Support customer claims and field issues with structured root cause analysis and corrective actions at system level Capture and reuse lessons learned to improve product quality and development efficiency Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW, SW, Mechanical, Quality, Industrial Engineering) to ensure successful industrialization and stable production performance Contribute to innovation and advanced engineering activities
