About The Role
Job Summary The role of JM Legal involves the following areas: Drafting, Scrutinising and vetting of contracts and agreements Legal Counselling Pleadings for cases (plaint, written statements, affidavits, petitions) Legal research (applicable laws, interpretations, case studies, procedures, etc.). Drafting, Scrutinising and vetting of contracts and agreements Legal Counselling Leadings for cases (plaint, written statements, affidavits, petitions Legal research (applicable laws, interpretations, case studies, procedures, etc.). Roles & Responsibilities Drafting and vetting of contracts and agreements: Vetting and scrutiny of corporate contracts, commercial agreements including lease contracts, tenancy agreements, joint venture agreement, know-how licence agreements and trade mark user agreements. Limit exposure to risk and liability. Legal counseling: Provide timely and appropriate legal advice and requisite legal support to all Business Units/entities across IFFCO Group. Litigation: Issuance of legal notices, preparing summary of cases, pleadings and liaisoning with external lawyers to pursue litigation of all nature ranging from civil, criminal, labour, property, consumer, tort and trademark related for and against IFFCO Group of Companies. Legal research: Conducting legal research as and when required for extending effective and timely advice to the management or the business unit on any legal issue. Periodically update management on the amendments to the laws and regulations in Asia Pacific and their impact on IFFCO Group businesses. Intellectual Property Rights: Protect intellectual property rights of IFFCO Group in coordination with Group’s TM Attorney in India. Legal expenses: Ensuring effective cost reduction on Legal Service expenses through judicious mix of internal resources/external counsels. External counsels: Maintain effective relationship with external counsels KPIs Drafting and scrutiny of Agreements within timelines Lodging of pleadings on time Periodic timely updates Reduced Legal cost Zero Legal controversies on the documentation Work Experience Requirement Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience comprising of at least 5 years as served in the legal department in large, reputed organisations and preferably around 3 years as a practicing Advocate or as an Associate in a reputed Law Firm in India.e. Qualification Degree in Law from reputed National Law School or University. Preferably Master in Law. Competencies Knowledge of Corporate Law Knowledge of secretarial matters Knowledge of commercial contracts Knowledge of IPR and Copyright Law Communicating effectively Self and Team Management Planning & Decision Making Customer Centricity Ownership & Result Orientation
