Reporting to the Manager Accounting, this full-time and permanent position is based in our Malta office and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Funds business and it’s growth. Key Responsibilities: Updating accounting records and preparation of regular management accounts for a portfolio of international holding and trading entities Preparation of tax computations and submission of income tax returns Preparation and submission of VAT returns Liaising and supporting external auditors Assisting in client work as may be required Maintenance of clients’ documents and records both in hard copy and on electronic database Posting of payments and invoices Attending client board meeting both physically and online To undertake other duties from time to time as Vistra may reasonably require Service Delivery To work closely with the Manager and the accounting team and other Vistra colleagues to ensure adequate support for the accounting operations and to help meet departmental targets To ensure the quality of client services and adherence to their requirements in compliance with regulatory requirements Regulatory and Corporate Governance To keep abreast of technical and legislative developments in VAT, income tax and accounting standards, including IFRS and GAPSME, also by attending seminars and courses To keep informed of and comply with all Vistra policies and procedures To comply with all Vistra Group policies relevant to the role and provide the mandatory Group Annual Assurance To keep informed of developments in local legislation and regulations vis-à-vis compliance, including but not limited to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (incl. subsidiary legislation) and the implementing Procedure To comply with all local regulatory and AML/CFT requirements To report suspicious transactions to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer To perform mandatory Group training that may be required from time to time To uphold Vistra’s values by promoting a culture of professionalism, teamwork and equality Attributes/Technical Skills: Knowledge of Maltese reporting, tax regulations, and compliance requirements Relevant Experience: Excellent verbal and written English Previous local experience in accounting Education and Professional Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or advanced stage of ACCA If you are excited about working with us, we encourage you to apply or have a confidential chat with one of our Talent Acquisition team members.
