Senior Structural Engineer (M/F)

About The Role
Description of the Role
- Provide structural engineering services, including but not limited to design review services, for building and infrastructure projects in the UAE and internationally. Coordinate projects details in accordance with client requirements and attend meetings with clients and authorities as a representative of SOCOTEC.
- Attend site visits and meetings as required by the project and clients.
- Identify business opportunities for SOCOTEC and work closely with the Commercial team to develop these.
- Assist the Commercial team with the preparation of fee proposals and quotations.
- Liaise with Technical Manager and Accountant for reporting and invoicing.
- Assist Technical Manager, Accountant and Managing Director in analyzing the financial data associated with your projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the delivery of the highest quality of work to SOCOTEC clients.
- Deliver services within the timeframes dictated by the client and SOCOTEC.
- Responsible for ensuring that work is carried out as per the relevant instructions.
- Consistently exceed clients’ expectations.
- Comply with SOCOTEC’s group policies and procedures.
- Achieve and maintain the highest qualification levels determined by SOCOTEC for the relevant consultancy disciplines.
- Take an active and full role in the quality assurance of services delivered by SOCOTEC through document review, supervision, audit and assessment of other staff members, providing support and leadership to the engineering team.
- Stand out as a good example to all staff.
- Undertake such other responsibilities that might reasonably be required by the company.
- Ensure the highest standards of administration.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Comply with SOCOTEC International and client quality, safety and environmental systems and procedures at all times.
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards are immediately reported and relevant paperwork is completed.
- Work within the team to develop a culture where everyone embraces, upholds and accepts responsibility for a safe workplace, a healthy working life, a sustainable environment and the right and duty to intervene.
- Degree qualified in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in Abu Dhabi, UAE
- Proficient in structural software including ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000.
- Experience with local Abu Dhabi codes and regulations, including the MePS system.
- ADM Engineer's License Card is preferred.
