Accountabilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of complex general liability and insurance litigation matters from initial assessment and strategy through resolution.
  • Handle litigation involving premises liability, product liability, negligent security, personal injury defense, and other general liability matters.
  • Apply sound legal judgment to develop and execute effective case strategies while protecting client interests and pursuing favorable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with practice leadership and business development teams to develop and implement strategies that support continued practice and client growth.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen client relationships by providing responsive, practical, and high-quality legal counsel.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to junior attorneys and legal staff, supporting their development and contributing to a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Work closely with senior legal leadership to help advance the growth and success of the general liability practice.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, legal quality, client service, and ethical conduct throughout all matters.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • At least 6 years of litigation experience, preferably focused on insurance defense or general liability matters.
  • Experience with trucking, products liability, premises liability, or related insurance litigation is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation matters independently and exercise strong strategic and legal judgment.
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes, case strategy, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building and business development skills, with the ability to contribute to client retention and practice growth.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities, including the ability to support and develop junior attorneys and staff.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of effectively managing multiple complex matters and competing priorities.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service and achieving high-quality legal outcomes.
