Senior Product Specialist MES Major Tasks Is a pivotal role in driving user adoption and delivering measurable business value across multiple products, workflows, and platforms, often spanning several business units and geographies. This position requires a strategic mindset and the ability to lead complex change management initiatives that ensure successful implementation and sustained engagement with digital solutions. As a subject matter expert (SME), the Senior Product Specialist partners closely with engineering, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to design and deliver customer-centric solutions that align with organisational objectives. The role involves influencing product strategy, shaping user experience, and ensuringthat technology investments translate into tangible business outcomes. Key Tasks & Responsibilities:Design, build and operate MES solutions in cloud, including deployment, integration, scaling, and lifecycle managementManage and optimize containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm chartsAutomate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code principlesDesign and implement reliable and secure system integrations between MES, shopfloor equipment, and enterprise systems (e.g. SAP)Take ownership of operations, monitoring, and incident handling of MES platforms in production environmentsImplement and maintain monitoring solutions (logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards) to ensure system stability and performanceTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues across MES, cloud, and integration layersContinuously improve operational processes, observability, and system resilienceCollaborate with product teams and sites to deliver scalable, robust, and reusable MES solutionsContribute to standardization of deployment, operations, and monitoring practices across MES platforms Qualifications & Competencies:Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related fieldStrong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestrationSolid expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-CodeStrong experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, networking)Hands-on experience in operations and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK or similar)Strong experience working in DevOps environments (CI/CD, Git, automated deployment pipelines, Helm charts)Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, and communication protocolsExperience in manufacturing environments, MES systems (ideally PAS-X) and GxP is a plusExperience with Node-RED and OPC (UA/DA) for integration and automationStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a hands-on, operations-driven approachFluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus What do We offer:At Bayer, we are committed to transparency, equal pay for equal work or work of equal value, and objective reward practices in line with EU and local regulations.
