RTR Quality Control (QC) Inspector

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced RTR Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our team on a major infrastructure project. The successful candidate will oversee the inspection and testing of Reinforced Thermosetting Resin (RTR), Glassfiber Reinforced Epoxy (GRE), and Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) piping systems. You will ensure that all construction and installation activities fully comply with project specifications, international codes, and client engineering standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Material Inspection: Verify incoming RTR/GRE/GRP pipes, fittings, adhesives, and raw materials against material certificates, purchase orders, and project requirements.
- Process Monitoring: Inspect joint fit-ups, adhesive bonding, lamination layups, wrapping, and curing cycles (including heating blanket applications).
- Testing & Verification: Witness and document hydrostatic pressure testing, leak testing, and visual inspections of completed non-metallic piping networks.
- Shaving & Qualification: Verify shaver machine settings, taper angles, and joint preparation; monitor and qualify the workmanship of RTR bonders and laminators.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and maintain Quality Control Procedure (QCP) documents, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and daily Quality Inspection Reports (QIR).
- Defect Management: Identify non-conformances, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of QC inspection experience strictly dedicated to RTR/GRE/GRP piping within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or large-scale utility sectors.
- Technical Certifications: Valid qualification/certification from major RTR manufacturers (e.g., Future Pipe Industries [FPI], Amiantit, or equivalent).
- Standards Knowledge: Strong familiarity with international standards such as ASME B31.3, ASTM, and specific regional client specifications (such as Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards SAES-L-105, SAES-S-070, or equivalent).
- Computer Skills: Must have passed or be ready to take the client Computer-Based Test (CBT) for RTR/Non-Metallic piping inspection.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
