Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end process, to include but not limited to calculating accruals, monthly entries, and correcting entries.
• Analyze general ledger to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
• Research issues with purchase orders, three-way match, costs applied to service calls, and percentage of completion compared to job forecast.
• Collaborate to keep internal controls current to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks, including compliance with GAAP.
• Balance bank statements.
• Collect data and documents to answer questions during annual audit and sales tax audit.
• Responsible for keeping information confidential.
• Flexibility to work additional hours, as needed.
• Other functions may be assigned.

QualificationsSkills Required

• Must be able to multi-task and keep up with deadlines.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools, as well as a strong analytical and problem-solving skillset.
• Understanding and experience with sales and use tax for contractors is a plus.
• Experience in Excel with an emphasis on importing data, using formulas, and formatting.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with vendors, managers, and co-workers.
• Experience with Great Plains and Epicor/Prophet21 is a plus.
• Must have a positive attitude and have the ability to work well in a large team.
• Education and/or Experience Required
• 10+ years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance a plus.
