Senior Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineer based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity to serve as a senior technical reference for the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable, cloud-native software <solutions.You> will work closely with engineering and product stakeholders to turn complex business needs into reliable, production-ready systems.The role combines strong AWS expertise with hands-on experience in Generative AI, LLMs, and AI-agent <architectures.You> will help shape long-term technical direction through architecture decisions, security-focused engineering, and scalable infrastructure.Beyond your own delivery, you will raise engineering standards through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.The position offers the opportunity to work within a stable team, continuously evolving systems and solving challenging technical <problems.It> is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines technical depth, autonomy, strategic thinking, and a strong passion for innovation.

Accountabilities

Own the architecture and evolution of distributed, cloud-native systems from infrastructure-as-code through production operations, with a strong focus on reliability, security, performance, and scalability.

Design and deliver solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Bedrock, SQS, SNS, and ECS, making informed architectural decisions around cost and operational efficiency.

Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear, scoped, and actionable technical plans that can be delivered effectively by engineering teams.

Create and maintain Architecture Decision Records that establish durable technical standards and guide future architectural choices.

Drive alignment between engineering, product, and other stakeholders by communicating technical strategies, trade-offs, risks, and priorities clearly.

Contribute hands-on to software development while maintaining high standards for architecture, code quality, reliability, and security.

Lead code reviews, design critiques, and technical discussions to continuously improve engineering practices and solution quality.

Mentor and support other engineers, helping develop their technical capabilities and encouraging strong engineering practices.

Explore and apply Generative AI, LLMs, and AI-agent technologies to improve products, workflows, and software development capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience in software development, with a proven track record of designing, building, and deploying complex production systems.
• Advanced programming experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Extensive experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, scalability, and performance considerations.
• Strong experience developing cloud-native applications and platforms on AWS, particularly with Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, AWS Bedrock, SQS, SNS, and ECS.
• Ability to make sound architectural decisions while balancing cost, performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Practical experience or strong interest in Generative AI, LLMs, and AI-agent architectures.
• Experience working as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team lead, with the ability to provide technical guidance to other engineers.
• Experience leading the design, development, and deployment of reliable and scalable software solutions in production environments.
• C1-level English proficiency or higher, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical background is advantageous.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or AWS CDK is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor is desirable.
• Experience building or integrating AI agents using orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or similar technologies is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, autonomy, technical judgment, collaboration skills, and a continuous-learning mindset.
