About The Role

Valsea is a comprehensive, highly scalable SaaS technology platform that orchestrates the operational core of various entertainment brands worldwide. Imagine a proprietary ecosystem where complex transaction flows are managed, compliance is automated, and critical operations are coordinated in real time.

Now imagine that engine also has to make people want to come back. That's the gap this role closes. Valsea is hiring the first person to own, end to end, everything that turns a one-off transaction into a habit: bonuses, missions, tiers, wallets, and the CRM brain wired behind all of it. If "retention" means more to you than a number on a dashboard, keep reading.

Let’s shed some light on this! πŸ”¦

Valsea started in Marbella in 2018, building a single proprietary platform that runs payments, compliance and player accounts for several entertainment brands at once β€” instead of duct-taping together third-party tools for each one.

Everything CRM, bonusing, gamification and third-party-integration-related sits inside a 14-person engineering group reporting to Andrew (CPO), split into two pods: real-time prize engine and third-party content aggregator, and one β€” nine people, with its own software dev manager, tech lead, and backend/frontend engineers already in place β€” focused on player engagement, retention and sports integrations. That second pod is the one this role leads.

You'd be one of four product people reporting into Andrew: three existing PMs β€” one owns payments, content and landing pages, another owns our core entertainment platform, and the remaining one manages the bigger projects and our A/B testing initiatives β€” and you, owning everything on the engagement-side. There's also a product designer embedded in the pod, so this role isn't about doing the design work, but about being fluent enough in it to brief and push back well.

The mandate is explicitly business and strategy first: translating priorities into clear requirements for a team that already has strong technical leadership, rather than being the technical decision-maker yourself.

  • Lead product for both of the team's player-facing platforms β€” deposit bonuses, free spins, cashback and rakeback β€” from how the rules are configured under the hood to how they actually show up in front of a player.
  • Build out the gamification and loyalty layer: missions, tournaments, levels and VIP tiers that give players a reason to stick around beyond the next transaction.
  • Own the wallet experience β€” bonus balances, wagering logic, conversion rules β€” making sure something as fiddly as "how much of this bonus can I actually withdraw" is transparent rather than a support ticket generator.
  • Drive the Smartico roadmap as product owner of that integration: rollout across brands, and getting more value out of its segmentation and campaign tooling over time.
  • Monitor how players actually engage with bonuses in practice, not just whether they're switched on β€” and use that to shape what gets built next.
  • Decide where and how bonusing and gamification features get surfaced in-product, partnering closely with the pod's product designer so features don't just exist, they get used.
  • Design and prioritise A/B tests on bonus mechanics, offer structures and retention flows, and defend the roadmap with those results rather than gut feel.
  • Translate business and strategic priorities into clear requirements for the software dev manager, tech lead and developers to build β€” this role is judged on commercial judgement first, technical depth second.
  • Partner with compliance/legal on the regulatory guardrails around bonusing β€” jurisdiction-specific rules and responsible-play limits.
  • Own the success metrics for the whole area: activation, redemption rates, LTV impact, churn reduction β€” and report against them like they're your own P\&L, because functionally, they are.

You lead the pod's roadmap and backlog, but you're not its people manager β€” the software dev manager and tech lead already cover day-to-day technical delivery and team management. That split is deliberate: it frees you up to spend your time on strategy, stakeholder alignment and requirements, which is exactly what Valsea told us they're optimising for in this hire.

CRM/lifecycle marketing will be your most frequent collaborator outside the pod β€” most bonusing and campaign requirements land on your desk through them. Compliance and legal are close seconds, given how much of this area sits inside regulated territory. Expect Jira and Confluence day to day, alongside Smartico for CRM/campaign work.

At Valsea, coordination is sacred to ensure the flow of operations never stops. The team generally operates from 09:00 to 17:00 (plus your lunch break). This overlapping time allows everyone to stay in sync during meetings, push development forward at lightning speed, and carry out task handovers without leaving anyone hanging. You will have plenty of autonomy, but staying connected is the key to ensuring no project ever gets blocked.

You'd report to Andrew, who leads product at Valsea from and already has three PMs on his team β€” you'd be the fouth.

Your pod: nine people β€” a software dev manager, a tech lead, and backend/frontend developers β€” already structured and running, inside a wider 14-person group that also includes a second pod building an in-house chatbot agent. A product designer works alongside the pod as well.
