DevOps Engineer

We're looking for a high-performing DevOps Engineer to perform software engineering and technical O&M support for a large and complex cloud-based computing platform.The ideal candidate will be experienced in coding, scripting, and collaborating with the end users from external groups as well as partners across the community. You will deploy the environments and tools to support the data science community, creation of standalone applications and services. You will also lead efforts to develop new ways to access the platform in controlled security environments.Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team. The location of this job is Reston, VA.Responsibilities:Support cloud infrastructure and system administration Support system operations and maintenanceMonitor general system and server health, create solutions where neededTroubleshoot and resolve system issuesAssist with security scans and security accreditation activitiesPerform system account management (managing certificates, system credentials, expiration dates)Maintain updated repositories on multiple fabricsManage backup and restore process for core servicesRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field8+ years of relevant experienceProficiency in Linux including scripting (Bash, Python) and service managementExperience building and deploying applications in AWS (preferred),Azure, or Google Compute EnvironmentExperience with deployment automation and continuous integration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similarStrong understanding of software development lifecycle and version control (Git, GitLab)Experience with code repositories and build/development pipelines (Jenkins, Maven, or Nexus)Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker,Kubernetes, Mesos, or Marathon)Experience working with software development teams under source control project environmentsUS citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance requiredDesired Experience:At least 10 years of DevOps / software engineering experience Knowledge of SQL and relational database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, RDS)Experience working with Amazon Web ServicesExperience working with distributed databases and streaming technologies, for example, Hadoop, Spark, Yarn, Hive, TrinoKnowledge of or experience with data science applications such as Python, Anaconda, Jupyter Notebook or <NiFi.Do> you know anyone for this position, or other positions open at The Swift Group?
