Student Educational Services Aide, USDB

We are looking for a knowledgeable, caring, and responsible Student Educational Services Aide to work under the supervision of an Instructor for the Blind/Visually Impaired at USDB. This position is located in Springville, UT. Principal Duties: As a Student Educational Services Aide you will: Provide field support to blind and visually impaired students who may also have additional disabilities or needs. Provide direct supportive instruction to blind and visually impaired students without daily supervision/intervention of assigned Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). Provide one-on-one educational support and assistance to students. Provide assistance to classroom teachers as appropriate. Provide braille instruction, both contracted and uncontracted. Provide braille and tactile graphic material preparation for all levels of students (academic to severe). Assists in determining/distinguishing students’ needs and provides instruction in the proper use of low vision aids, classroom accommodations, etc. Meet with classroom teachers, administrators, and parents, when appropriate/as directed by TVI, and assists the TVI in meeting the requirements of the Individual Education Plan (IEP). Travel from school to school with students who are blind and visually impaired attending their neighborhood schools Assist the student in accessing content or curriculum in their classrooms using technology or tools.
