Job Summary

Class A CDL Driver needed for local deliveries of metal roofing panels and components to job sites operating flatbed trucks with piggybacks.

QualificationsKey Responsibilities

Safe Transportation: Safely operate a Class A CDL tractor-trailer, primarily using flatbeds to transport metal roofing, panels, and trim.
Loading/Unloading: Secure loads and help unload materials at job sites, which may involve heavy lifting.
Customer Service: Act as the face of the company, interacting professionally with customers, contractors, and job site personnel.
Compliance: Adhere to all DOT regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any safety concerns or maintenance needs.
Documentation: Complete logs, invoices, and delivery paperwork, including using phone systems to take photos of deliveries.
Schedule: Typically local, day-shift hours, allowing for home-every-night consistency.

Qualifications

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical/drug screen.
Ability to physically manage the unloading of metal products.

Working Conditions

Office and field-based role with possible travel to contractor sites, customer locations, and other Dixie/Baker locations.
Occasional lifting of samples or materials (up to 100 lbs.)
Must be comfortable in a construction environment and wear appropriate PPE when needed.

Preferred Skills

Computer proficiency with familiarity or ability to quickly learn GeoTab or other software.
Understanding of roofing products and/or construction materials/ language.
