X-Ray Technologist

Akicita Federal is hiring a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services to veterans served by the VA New Jersey Health Care System's Toms River Community-Based Outpatient Clinic. In this role, you will be a critical part of the care team, ensuring veterans receive timely, accurate radiologic examinations that support their diagnosis and treatment. This is an impactful, patient-facing position where your technical expertise directly improves veteran health outcomes every day.- Perform a full range of diagnostic radiographic examinations, including general X-ray imaging, for veteran patients at the Toms River CBOC.- Operate and maintain radiologic equipment in accordance with established safety and quality standards.- Position patients correctly for imaging procedures, adapting techniques to accommodate patient conditions and mobility limitations.- Evaluate image quality and make technical adjustments to produce diagnostic-grade radiographs on the first attempt whenever possible.- Document imaging procedures accurately in the patient health record and relevant VA information systems.- Coordinate with ordering providers, nursing staff, and other clinic personnel to ensure smooth patient flow and timely completion of imaging orders.- Adhere to radiation safety protocols, including proper shielding and exposure practices, to protect patients, staff, and yourself.
