Technical Assistant (m/f/d) in Translational Animal Biotechnology

Full- and Part-time | terminated (12 months) | TUM Hospital

Animal models of human disease are essential for studying disease pathogenesis and developing novel therapeutic approaches. To support the generation of transgenic large-animal models for cardiovascular research, we are seeking a technical assistant to contribute to laboratory-based research activities.

Your responsibilities

  • Application of laboratory methods relevant to somatic cell cloning (cell sorting, microinjection, SCNT, gene targeted techniques, embryo cultivation)
  • Documentation of work e.g. in accordance with biosafety requirements
  • Maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment
  • Supporting lab management (e.g. procurement and ordering of laboratory supplies)
  • Supervising students and apprentices

Your profile

  • Completed training as a biological technical assistant (BTA) or a bachelor's degree (<B.Sc>.) in biology
  • Several years of hands-on experience in embryological techniques relevant to somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) is an essential requirement for this position.
  • Solid practical experience in molecular biology
  • Careful and complete documentation of experiments.
  • Strong English skills
  • Precision, dedication, and teamwork are second nature to you.
