About The Role

Duties

  • Lead mechanical design and development efforts for new product platforms and major product enhancements.
  • Own complete mechanical systems and subsystems throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and evaluate multiple design concepts and recommend optimal solutions based on technical, business, and customer requirements.
  • Perform engineering analysis to validate design decisions.
  • Execute product development activities from concept through production release.
  • Identify technical risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the technical owner for assigned products and mechanical systems.
  • Make independent engineering recommendations and decisions within defined program objectives.
  • Influence product architecture and long-term technology direction.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and product documentation.
  • Manage engineering changes and support configuration control processes.
  • Ensure designs consider manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, reliability, and cost targets.
  • Drive improvements that reduce recurring product issues and improve product robustness.
  • Support root cause investigations when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of product development experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing complex electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience owning mechanical systems from concept through production.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD design and product documentation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal, molded plastics, and assemblies.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze technical problems and make recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience leading significant product development programs.
  • Experience with industrial equipment, instrumentation, or durable products.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), FMEA, and structured design reviews.
