Role: Engineer - Digital manufacturing Location: IBC Reporting to: Lead Digital Manufacturing Initiatives - Digital Manufacturing Team name: MES CoE Team About the Team and the Role The MES CoE Team team at Ather is responsible for architecting, scaling, and optimizing our plant-wide automation ecosystem and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) utilizing Dassault Systèmes Delmia Apriso. This role is for a Senior MES Engineer to lead complex integrations between shop-floor hardware, edge SCADA platforms, and enterprise IT systems, driving technical strategy and mentoring junior engineers to realize our smart factory vision. Responsibilities Design and scale the end-to-end architecture of our MES platform using Delmia Apriso to ensure high availability and alignment with manufacturing processes. Oversee and guide the development of shop-floor workflows and operator interfaces utilizing Apriso Process Builder, Global Process Manager (GPM), and Business Integrator. Drive the integration strategy using Apriso Machine Integrator (AMI), Kepware OPC Servers, and edge/HMI platforms like Ignition or ICONICS Genesis to standardize PLC and controller communications. Design and optimize complex MSSQL database architectures, advanced queries, and stored procedures to process high-volume real-time production data and analytics. Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in the OT/IT data pipeline to support predictive maintenance, reduce downtime, and enhance overall system reliability. Serve as the technical anchor collaborating with Production, IT, Quality, and Process Engineering leadership to convert business requirements into scalable software features while mentoring junior engineers and interns. Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 4 to 7 years of proven experience in industrial automation, MES architecture (specifically Delmia Apriso), SCADA integration, and IT-OT networks. Must Have Competencies Architecture, deployment, configuration, and management of Dassault Systèmes Delmia Apriso core modules including Process Builder, Machine Integrator, Production, Quality, and Warehouse. Advanced database management, schema design, query optimization, and stored procedure development using MSSQL within high-transaction manufacturing environments. Implementation of custom business logic and UI extensibility using C# (.NET), JavaScript, and HTML. Application of ISA-95 standards, OEE implementation, end-to-end manufacturing traceability, and quality management systems within an MES ecosystem. Good to Have Competencies Operational integration of edge SCADA platforms such as Inductive Automation Ignition or ICONICS Genesis for line-level data aggregation. Configuration of Kepware architecture, OPC UA/DA redundancy, and industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, and Profinet. Implementation of OT/IT pipeline solutions for predictive maintenance and plant-wide downtime reduction.
