About The Role

The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Administrator, Purchasing position.

This recruitment and selection process is restricted to House of Commons employees.

As part of the Digital Planning, Reporting and Governance team, you are responsible for the provision of procurement services for a variety of goods and services within Digital Services and Real Property. You will be involved with clarifying requirements with internal clients, researching potential suppliers, preparing and processing purchase orders, preparing Requests for Quotations (RFQ), analyzing bids, and helping select a winning supplier. In addition, you will support Digital Services and Real Property employees with the purchasing of accessory and device requests, as well as the coordination, administration and booking of training registration requests and travel arrangements.

Education

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, OR an acceptable equivalent of education, training and or experience in the delivery of procurement and acquisitions services, frameworks, and processes services.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement processes for goods and/or services;
  • Experience coordinating and administering training registration requests and travel arrangements;
  • Experience preparing and processing purchase orders;
  • Knowledge of purchasing-related policies, guidelines, and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated client service skills, emphasizing clear communication and collaboration;
  • Proficient in procurement platforms and technology-based tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint, to manage purchasing processes efficiently.

  • Ability to exercise courtesy, tact, judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive information and client interactions.
