About The Role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer based in India.
This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced cloud engineer with a strong backend and DevOps <orientation.You> will design, build, and maintain reliable AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.The role offers significant ownership across cloud environments, core infrastructure, and infrastructure delivery <processes.You> will contribute to CI/CD pipelines while ensuring infrastructure changes are efficient, repeatable, and <secure.Security> and compliance are also central, with a focus on standards such as ISO 27001 and related best practices.The position is well suited to someone who enjoys building robust cloud foundations and improving operational <reliability.You>’ll work in a remote-first environment designed to support long-term professional growth and meaningful global collaboration.
Accountabilities
- Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Manage EC2 and other core AWS infrastructure components, ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational performance.
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines used to deploy and manage infrastructure changes safely and efficiently.
- Implement, maintain, and strengthen cloud security and compliance controls aligned with ISO 27001 or equivalent standards.
- Apply infrastructure and security best practices to improve the resilience, consistency, and maintainability of cloud environments.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in infrastructure automation, deployment processes, and operational workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
- 3+ years of experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including practical experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- 2+ years of experience managing EC2 and other core AWS infrastructure services.
- 1+ year of experience working with security and compliance requirements based on ISO 27001 or a comparable standard.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, deployment practices, and security principles.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of infrastructure initiatives, and maintain high standards of reliability and quality.
- Exposure to SOC 2, GDPR, or other security and compliance frameworks is a strong advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving infrastructure challenges.
