This is an opportunity for a senior Java developer to help evolve established SaaS products while contributing to modernization and continuous technical <improvement.You> will work across legacy code evolution, refactoring, architecture improvements, and the delivery of new capabilities.The role combines hands-on development with technical ownership, code quality, testing, and solution <design.You> will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams in a business-domain-driven environment with a strong financial <context.As> a senior member of the team, you will also support other developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and collaborative engineering practices.The environment encourages experimentation with AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and engineering outcomes.This is a fully remote role suited to someone who values autonomy, technical excellence, continuous learning, and meaningful product impact.

Accountabilities

• Evolve established Java systems by contributing to refactoring initiatives, architectural improvements, and the delivery of new features.
• Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance while continuously improving code quality, readability, maintainability, and technical robustness.
• Participate in defining technical solutions collaboratively with engineering and product teams, considering both technical requirements and business-domain needs.
• Take ownership of delivery quality, covering implementation, automated testing, code reviews, validation, and continuous improvement.
• Work autonomously as a technical reference within the team, supporting the technical development of other engineers through guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Apply engineering practices such as pair programming, code review, refactoring, and continuous improvement.
• Leverage AI-powered tools and resources to support software development, improve productivity, and explore new approaches to engineering.
• Develop a strong understanding of business rules and the financial context in which the product operates.
• Demonstrate curiosity about emerging technologies and explore how Artificial Intelligence can transform processes, experiences, and business outcomes.

Requirements

• Solid professional experience with Java development, including experience working with Java 6, 8, and 11.
• Proven experience developing and evolving Java applications based on monolithic architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Spring for building APIs and backend solutions.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, particularly using JUnit.
• Strong command of software engineering best practices, including Clean Code, SOLID, sound design principles, and systematic refactoring.
• Ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and refactor complex existing codebases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the autonomy expected from a senior-level developer.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute through pair programming, code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring.
• Nice to have: basic knowledge of React and familiarity with Spec-Driven Development (SDD).
• Nice to have: knowledge of or interest in Artificial Intelligence technologies, tools, applications, and concepts.
