About The Role
At the Virginia Transportation Research Council (VTRC), our research scientists work closely with VDOT to keep people moving through the Commonwealth of Virginia. As part of the VTRC Safety, Operations, and Traffic Engineering Team, you get to work closely with VDOT engineers to conceive, plan, direct, and conduct complex research projects in your specialty area and provide a solution to problems or an improvement to technology, procedures, practices, or processes for transportation safety and operations. You could influence how VDOT designs and operates its roadways to ensure the safety and mobility of the traveling public. A successful candidate will be proficient in traffic engineering, transportation operations, and roadway safety analysis. And an understanding of freeway and arterial operations and applications of advanced technologies in surface transportation safety and mobility.
