Who are we looking for? Under the direction of the Resident Engineer, the Structures Representative provides field and office engineering support for roadway and developer construction projects involving bridges, buildings, walls, barriers, drainage structures, sign structures , and appurtenances. The role ensures that contractors construct structural elements in compliance with the Standard Plans, Standard Specifications, contract plans , and Special Provisions . Join us in the office three days a week to contribute, connect and excel in our vibrant environment. This position will be located in our Redding, CA office. Responsibilities Provides independent analysis of technical submittals relating to shoring, falsework and other structural elements as needed Responsible for the technical and administrative control of the structure elements of a locally administered project Administers the documentation of a construction contract’s structural work Reviews change orders, submittals, shop drawings and materials testing. Provide input and direction regarding all aspects of the construction project. Performs inspection and engineering support for variety of structure construction engineering projects Work in conjunction with field inspectors and project team members to ensure project goals are being met Administers projects in the absence of Resident Engineer Monitors and reviews contractors’ construction schedules Prepares and files daily construction reports, diaries, & other project documents Verifies acceptability of material incorporated into the project and maintains material and inspection records Coordinates with contractors and agencies about different tasks and projects Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, geology, environmental science or related field, preferred. Qualifications 12 + years of experience with solid technical knowledge and skills associated with structures and building construction.
