About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and other metals as required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
- Prepare, align, and fit metal components prior to welding.
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Operate welding equipment, grinders, cutting tools, and other fabrication machinery safely.
- Carry out basic fabrication tasks, including measuring, marking, cutting, and assembling metal components.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
- Identify and report defects or quality issues.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a MIG Welder in a manufacturing, engineering, or fabrication environment.
- Proficient in MIG welding techniques with the ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Experience using measuring equipment and fabrication tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks.
- Relevant welding certification is an advantage.
