About The Role
As an Image Specialist, you will play a vital role in the categorization and classification of genealogical records. This role is essential to ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and searchability of genealogical content across FamilySearch platforms. As an individual contributor, you will focus on high-quality image processing, metadata creation, record auditing, and validation, while maintaining strong communication and organizational practices.
Record Management Review and organize genealogical images. Validate record types, dates, locations, and other key data to ensure proper classification. Classify, group, and structure genealogical records in a logical and consistent manner to support the creation of family trees. Review and correct the indexing of civil and religious records, ensuring that transcribed information accurately reflects the original document. Productivity and Work Management Maintain a consistent and efficient work pace, meeting daily and weekly productivity goals. Identify and implement personal workflow improvements to increase speed and accuracy. Accurately track work progress and report any issues or anomalies. Quality Assurance Ensure records meet FamilySearch quality standards. Perform periodic quality reviews and make corrections as needed. Identify and resolve issues related to record defects, file names, or metadata inconsistencies.
Less than one year since completion of a full-time mission. Current temple recommend. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience with indexing, Participate, suggested records, and family history work. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Basic knowledge of image records and metadata. Ability to adapt to new technologies and workflows.
