This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Developer (Java + Python) with AI Skills based in Brazil.

This is a senior hands-on engineering role focused on building modern, scalable, cloud-native enterprise <applications.You> will combine strong Java and Python expertise with AI-powered development practices to improve how software is designed, built, tested, and delivered.The role spans microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs, cloud and data engineering, and modern DevOps <practices.You> will work extensively with Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and other technologies supporting large-scale solutions.A key part of the role is identifying opportunities to automate repetitive engineering activities and enhance developer productivity through <AI.You> will collaborate with architects, product, QA, DevOps, and business teams while also mentoring other engineers and promoting technical excellence.This is an opportunity to shape AI-first software engineering practices while delivering high-impact solutions for complex enterprise environments.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications and microservices using Java and Python.
• Build enterprise-grade solutions on Microsoft Azure, applying sound engineering and architectural principles.
• Design and implement secure RESTful APIs, distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Work with cloud and data engineering technologies including Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, SQL, and data modeling.
• Deliver production-ready software following Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software development lifecycle practices.
• Use AI-powered development tools to improve engineering speed, software quality, consistency, and overall productivity.
• Create reusable AI-driven workflows that automate repetitive activities such as code generation, testing, documentation, debugging, refactoring, and CI/CD processes.
• Continuously identify opportunities to integrate AI into engineering workflows and improve developer experience.
• Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, QA, DevOps professionals, and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while encouraging engineering excellence, knowledge sharing, and broader adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the services and solutions you build, from design through production delivery and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Java and strong professional experience with Python.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and familiarity with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake.
• Experience with SQL, data modeling, cloud and data engineering concepts.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and REST API design.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Practical experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar solutions for code generation, debugging, automation, and engineering workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
• Advanced or fluent English communication skills.
• Senior-level ownership, curiosity, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
• A proactive mindset toward improving software development processes and using AI as a productivity multiplier.
• Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices is highly desirable.
