Cloud Engineer (Top Secret Clearance Required)

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Cloud Engineer to support a cutting-edge geospatial intelligence and data management program serving national security missions. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.Responsibilities:The Cloud Engineer will oversee cloud computing strategy including cloud application design, management, and monitoring, and will develop and implement product development strategies using agile processes. The role involves delivering IT solutions across PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS models, analyzing complex environments, and designing pragmatic architectures. The engineer will work across conceptual, logical, and physical hardware and software designs and develop solutions using dynamic scripting and programming languages.Required Skills/Experience:Object-oriented programming (OOP) building enterprise-level applications using established design patternsMulti-tiered or microservice application developmentExperience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)Containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShiftCI/CD pipeline implementation using GitLab CI or JenkinsShell or general-purpose scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, Perl, PowerShell)Linux system administration and usagePreferred Skills/Experience:Experience supporting U.S. government agenciesAmazon Web Services (AWS) cloud servicesInfrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, or CloudFormationDeploying and maintaining Kubernetes distributionsGitOps tooling including GitLab and ArgoCDMonitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or ELK StackSoftware Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processesNetworking fundamentals including security and firewall conceptsDevSecOps principles and identity and access management (IAM)Building automated pipelinesQualifications:Active Top Secret clearance required to start; must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with PolygraphNorth Point Technology is THE BEST place to work for curious-minded engineers motivated to support our country’s most crucial missions!
