The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is one of the IFC’s key Departments responsible for a significant portion of IFC’s business volume, profitability and development reach, approximately 40%. FIG engages in a wide range of sub-sectors including Microfinance, SME, Gender, Climate, Insurance, Capital Markets, Housing, Distressed Assets, and other areas, with both investment and advisory services delivered globally to IFC’s clients through IFC’s global network. FIG has three main objectives: 1) financial inclusion 2) servicing the real economy and 3) mobilizing third-party resources. The MCT Division is looking to recruit an Associate Portfolio Officer to join its Financial Institutions Group to be based in Istanbul, Türkiye. The Associate Portfolio Analytics Officer is expected to support reporting and monitoring the quality of a fast growing portfolio in strategic areas such as MSME (including gender and agri-finance), Climate, Insurance, Capital Markets and Housing. It would contribute to strengthening our reach and impact measurement within the mentioned strategic areas and to the upgrading of overall portfolio monitoring and management The position is intended for a highly analytical, technically capable, and intellectually curious professional who can combine finance knowledge with quantitative methods, data analytics, automation, and practical applications of artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will be expected to question established approaches, reduce manual processes, build analytical tools, and translate large and complex datasets into forward-looking portfolio insights and actionable recommendations. Duties and Accountabilities The specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: • Providing support to the Regional Industry Manager on compliance, administration, reporting and operational risk management. • Prepare quarterly portfolio reports that include analysis of trends over time, key issues, and areas of potential concern. • Contribute to Improving the quality, consistency, and automation of FIG portfolio reporting by connecting and reconciling information from multiple IFC systems and external data sources. • Develop interactive dashboards and analytical visualizations with help of AI that allow management and investment teams to explore portfolio information efficiently. • Perform covenant compliance reviews (debt) and monitor changes to risk flags for determining performance assigned to a portfolio client. • Monitor profitability (debt service, dividends, fees, equity sales proceeds, RAROC etc.). • Identify portfolio processes that can be automated, simplified, or materially improved through AI. Use generative AI and other emerging technologies responsibly to improve the quality, speed, consistency, and depth of portfolio and pipeline/program analysis. • Build repeatable analytical workflows and tools rather than relying on manual, one-off reporting processes. Improve reporting to management using AI tools with a view to improve insights provided by such reports. • Support the broader adoption of modern AI across FIG by preparing guidance, demonstrations, training materials, and reusable solutions to staff. Ensure client and management briefs are in line with standards using AI tools.
