Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)
(100% time; Reports to the Associate Provost)
Qualifications and Experience: Graduate degree in relevant field required; Doctorate preferred; Minimum of five years of experience as an administrator or faculty within a higher education setting; Minimum of three years of experience in faculty development and/or within a center for teaching/learning excellence; Extensive experience working in online and hybrid teaching environments and with classroom technologies required; Must possess exceptional organizational skills, employee management skills, and oral and written communication skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, and facilitate professional learning opportunities (e.g. workshops) and resources for faculty/staff focused on teaching, learning, retention, and effectiveness
- Provide professional learning opportunities focused on varying course delivery modalities (i.e. online, hybrid) and new software and classroom technologies
- Provide faculty mentorship (such as one-on-one teaching consultations and classroom visits) focused on growth in teaching practice and enhanced learning environments
- Develop good working rapport and relationships with faculty/staff in order to influence a culture of care and shared investment in the learning environment
- Act as an advocate for teaching and learning across the University
- Evaluate the efficacy of CTL programs and services and make recommendations for meeting the evolving needs of faculty and staff
- Manage all operations and staff of the CTL
- Engage in campus committee structures, shared governance, and other aspects of the life of the University community
