About The Role

Performs precision assembly, inspection and handling of optical inserts and tooling used in contact lens manufacturing. Ensures compliance with quality requirements, supports machining and assembly processes, and maintains high attention to detail in a high mix, high volume environment. .

  • Assembles optical and non-optical inserts ensuring compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
  • Performs visual inspection of optical tooling using microscopes and inspection equipment to detect defects, surface conditions and dimensional deviations.
  • Handles delicate optical inserts following proper procedures to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, work instructions and SOPs.
  • Verifies tooling readiness prior to release to production.
  • Maintains traceability and documentation of tooling and inserts.
  • Follows cleaning, handling and storage procedures for optical components
  • Identifies and escalates quality issues or non-conformances.
  • Assists in inventory control and reconciliation of inserts and tooling.
  • Maintains organized workspace aligned with 5S principles.
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to meet production deadlines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and as required by business needs

  • Basic knowledge to aptitude to learn the operation and machining fundamentals.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform visual inspection using microscopes.
  • Understanding optical components and precision parts.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and detailed instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic Knowledge of computer systems.
  • Language skills (in reading and writing in English or Spanish)

Experience

  • 1-year in manufacturing, assembly or precision tooling environment (medical device or optics preferred).
  • Education:

High School diploma, or technical degree
