Programme Design & Delivery

  • Design and implement end-to-end learning programmes, including:
  • Graduate development programmes
  • Bursary support initiatives
  • Internal growth programmes aligned to BET’s identified talent and succession strategies
  • Collaborate with the BET People Team to align learning programmes to:
  • Talent development priorities
  • Skills gaps and workforce planning needs
  • Ensure learning solutions are aligned to BET’s business, technical, and cultural requirements
  • Oversee programme delivery, ensuring quality, consistency, and impact

Stakeholder Management & Partnership

  • Act as the primary L&D interface between Star Factory and BET stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with:
  • BET People and leadership teams
  • Line managers and programme sponsors
  • Facilitate regular alignment sessions with the People Team to ensure integration with broader HR initiatives (performance management, succession, retention strategies)
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance and enrich current initiatives

Learner Experience & Support

  • Ensure a high-quality, consistent end-to-end learner experience aligned to BET’s employee value proposition
  • Partner with the People Team to:
  • Monitor learner progress and performance
  • Integrate learners into the wider organisation effectively
  • Implement structured support mechanisms such as:
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Development plans aligned to career pathways
  • Proactively address barriers to learner success

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report on programme effectiveness using clear metrics (e.g. completion rates, performance, retention, placement)
  • Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement
  • Translate insights into continuous programme enhancements

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all programmes adhere to relevant SETA, QCTO, and regulatory requirements (where applicable)
  • Partner with the People Team to ensure alignment with internal HR policies and frameworks
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audits and compliance purposes
  • Manage vendor relationships (training providers, facilitators) where required

Reporting & Insights

  • Provide regular, structured reporting to both Star Factory and BET stakeholders
  • Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Support BET HR in strategic talent discussions through data-driven recommendations

Role Impact

This role is critical in strengthening the internal talent pipeline for BET while enhancing the effectiveness and reputation of Star Factory as a trusted learning partner. The Technical L&D Manager plays a central role in ensuring that development initiatives are not only delivered effectively but are continuously enriched to maximise value for both learners and the business.

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Systems Development, Business Information Systems, or another related technical discipline

Postgraduate qualification in L&D / OD (advantageous)

5–8 years’ experience in Learning & Development or Talent Development

Proven experience managing graduate programmes, bursaries, or early talent pipelines

Strong stakeholder management experience, ideally in a client-facing or partnering role

Experience working within or alongside SETA/QCTO frameworks (advantageous)
