About The Role

Performs limited neurodiagnostic studies.

Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome. Assesses patient as appropriate for procedure. Performs all neurodiagnostic studies under supervision according to policy and procedure, and as directed by interpreting physician. Monitors patients during and after procedures Evaluates results of procedures and patient response, and takes action accordingly. Provides safety measures for patients undergoing procedures Monitors quality control of equipment and participates in continuing quality improvement in the assigned division. Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded. Assumes responsibility for equipment in assigned area and reports any malfunctions. Participates in CQI activities. Performs special quality control duties as assigned. Communicates patient/family healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare provider. Reports variances or significant events/results to appropriate caregiver. Corroborates patients' clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.

Education: High School or GED Two years of college coursework in a healthcare field Experience: 3 As a MST, nursing assistant or similar clinical experience Performing neurodiagnostic studies such as various EEG's or nerve conduction studies
