Senior Database Engineer- Riyadh, KSA

WE are looking for a highly experienced Senior MS SQL & Oracle Database Engineer to manage and support critical database infrastructure within a banking environment.

The ideal candidate must have strong banking experience and extensive hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases , including on-premises clustering, replication, Disaster Recovery (DR), advanced troubleshooting, and SQL query performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support MS SQL Server and Oracle databases in a critical banking environment.
• Manage and maintain on-premises MS SQL and Oracle database clusters .
• Configure and support database clustering, replication, and DR environments .
• Support database replication between primary production environments and DR sites .
• Troubleshoot complex database availability, performance, and connectivity issues.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and fine-tuning of MS SQL queries .
• Analyze query execution and identify performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure database environments maintain high availability and operational reliability.
• Support database-related incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, network, and other technical teams to resolve database issues.
• Support database maintenance and operational activities in accordance with banking requirements.
• Banking experience – Mandatory.
• 10+ years of total IT experience.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Database and Oracle .
• Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL clustering in on-premises environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle clustering in on-premises environments.
• Hands-on experience with MS SQL and Oracle replication .
• Hands-on experience supporting DR sites and database replication/DR environments .
• Advanced troubleshooting and MS SQL query performance tuning experience.
