This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Appointment Setter / Lead Qualifier based in South Africa.
This is a part-time, customer-facing opportunity focused on turning inbound mortgage enquiries into qualified <appointments.You>’ll be the first point of contact for prospective clients, building rapport while gathering accurate information about their circumstances and requirements.The role combines telephone communication, lead qualification, CRM management, and disciplined <follow-up.You>’ll work within a clearly defined non-advised scope, ensuring clients are appropriately qualified before being booked with mortgage advisers.Success will depend on your ability to manage a substantial pipeline, stay organised, and consistently follow up without being overly <sales-driven.You>’ll work remotely with UK-based business hours and use modern CRM, communication, and AI-supported productivity <tools.It>’s an excellent fit for a confident communicator with appointment-setting or sales experience who enjoys structured, target-oriented work.
Accountabilities
- Contact new inbound mortgage leads promptly by telephone and establish a professional, friendly connection.
- Follow up with new, existing, and older leads according to established processes to maximize opportunities for qualified appointments.
- Conduct structured, scripted qualification calls, gathering accurate information about clients' circumstances, needs, and mortgage requirements.
- Determine whether enquiries meet the appropriate qualification criteria while remaining strictly within the non-advised scope of the position.
- Book suitable prospects directly into mortgage advisers' calendars and ensure appointment details are accurate.
- Confirm and follow up appointments to improve attendance and minimize no-shows.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including client information, lead status, notes, follow-up actions, and next steps.
- Independently manage a significant lead pipeline and prioritize activity according to urgency and opportunity.
- Re-engage older leads from the existing database when required.
- Escalate questions or requests that fall outside the role's non-advised responsibilities.
- Use CRM, communication, and AI-supported productivity tools effectively while adapting to new systems and workflows.
Requirements
- Previous experience in appointment setting, lead qualification, sales, customer service, or a similar client-facing role.
- Excellent spoken and written English, with a confident, professional, and engaging telephone manner.
- Naturally personable and conversational, with the ability to build trust quickly with prospective clients.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, combined with persistence and a proactive approach.
- Highly organized, with strong CRM discipline and the ability to manage a substantial lead pipeline independently.
- Comfortable following scripts, established processes, and clearly defined compliance or non-advised boundaries.
- Ability to remain professional and helpful without relying on overly aggressive sales techniques.
- Fast learner who is comfortable adopting new technology, systems, and AI-supported workflows.
- Experience communicating with UK consumers is advantageous.
- Previous exposure to mortgages, financial services, property, or another regulated sector is a plus.
- Experience with GoHighLevel or a comparable CRM is beneficial.
- Familiarity with professional AI tools is an advantage.
- Must be based in South Africa and available to work agreed hours aligned with UK business times.
- Must have a reliable laptop or PC, stable internet with backup power, a professional headset with a clear microphone, and a quiet workspace suitable for telephone calls.
