About the Role:

Backcountry's FP&A team needs a Senior Financial Analyst who can own full business areas end-to-end — from building models and forecasts to surfacing the insights that drive real decisions. As Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, you will develop financial forecasts and budgets, maintain the company's 13-week cash flow model, and champion AI-driven improvements across core FP&A processes.
Within six months, you will be the go-to analytical partner for your assigned business areas, with stakeholders at every level relying on your reporting and recommendations to guide strategy.
This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.

What You'll Do:

Analyze financial data and build financial models that directly inform business decisions across your assigned areas
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders
Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements
Model and maintain the company's 13-week cash flow forecast
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop business strategies and plans grounded in financial analysis
Participate in developing financial policies, procedures, and best practices
Champion an AI-first approach to FP&A — identify steps in core processes where AI can improve speed and quality, and implement solutions ranging from CustomGPTs to automated workflows

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
2+ years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, and modeling, preferably in retail or ecommerce
Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial analysis software preferred
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Hands-on experience applying AI and workflow-automation tools to streamline Finance processes and eliminate manual work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings to all levels of the organization
Understanding of how business decisions flow through each of the financial statements
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in treasury and cash management
Prior experience in a retail or ecommerce FP&A function

Why Join:
