Wastewater Surveillance Laboratory Analyst

Day-to-day responsibilities of this position: Process wastewater samples for molecular laboratory analysis in accordance with established protocols. Perform nucleic acid extraction from wastewater samples using manual and automated methodologies. Prepare, perform, and analyze qRT-PCR and other molecular assays, including PCR plate setup, instrument operation, and data interpretation. Analyze, compile, and accurately report laboratory results in a timely manner. Collaborate with wastewater testing personnel and provide regular updates and findings to the surveillance team. Conduct assay validations, verify test performance, and support the implementation and evaluation of new laboratory methods. Perform routine maintenance and quality control of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance. Maintain laboratory biosafety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance through proper documentation, housekeeping, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
