About The Role
DescriptionDescription of Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) supports our psychiatric providers by delivering high-quality clinical and administrative care to clients receiving behavioral health services. Responsibilities include obtaining and documenting vital signs, maintaining accurate medication lists and medical histories, entering lab results and outside medical records into the electronic health record (EHR), coordinating appointments and referrals, organizing records for psychiatric evaluations, and assisting with clinical documentation. The LPN also responds to client medication-related calls, routing questions to providers as appropriate, and communicates with pharmacies and other healthcare partners under the direction of the supervising nurse.
Position Details
- Full-Time: 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Knowledge and Comprehension
- Knowledge of basic nursing skills, including taking vital signs
- Strong computer skills and experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
- Understanding of and compassion for individuals with mental health conditions
- Reliable attendance and commitment to required trainings and certifications
Physical Requirements
Primarily sedentary work requiring extended computer use. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds (25 pounds rarely) and occasionally drive between locations.
QualificationsCurrent South Dakota LPN license required.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Successful completion of criminal background check.
The Board of Directors of the Human Service Agency shall have the prerogative to hire staff whose qualifications may vary from the above.
