About The Role

DescriptionJob Summary:

Performing pediatric health screenings, basic first aid, and a variety of duties within the school
system while maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting health screenings
Administration of medications via various methods; performance of procedures

Per Physician/Provider orders

Providing basic first aid; must maintain CPR certification
Ability to follow written Physician/Provider orders
Assuring medical equipment is properly maintained and remains in functional

Faculty/Administration, students and parents

Compliance with policies and procedures; health and safety regulations at all times
Accurate medical record documentation
Participates in mandatory training sessions
Various other duties as necessary or assigned

QualificationsQualifications:

2 Years of Experience
Previous pediatric, school nurse, and public health experience highly preferred
Medical office experience required
Familiar with medical record documentation and ability to generate and maintain precise and accurate records
Reliable transportation if needed for floating to other schools or offices
Must have ability to function in an organized manner within a fast-paced environment
Ability to respond appropriately and efficiently to emergent situations

Education:

Graduate of a Nursing program required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Licensure:

Kentucky RN license or RN license in a State recognized by the Kentucky Nurse Licensure Compact Act required effective June 1, 2007.
